Introduction

User’s trying to order medicines through online applications were going through an unsatisfactory experience. we wanted to dwell more as to what made the experience bad and identify the factors involved and solve the issues to make the experience better.

Business Problem

How to implement a system through which the users can purchase directly from pharmacies without going through a lot of hassle?

Because Inventory management is a hassle and having to train the staff is even a bigger one which requires a lot of resources.

User Problem ️

User’s had very little control over choosing the right brand or availability of medicines from their favorite pharmacy.

Because the users could not select the medicines they specifically ordered or deny if they had a different brand of the same medicine available.

Our Goals

The solution has to simple and easy to use for both parties involved(user and Pharmacy).

Challenges

  1. Lack of engineering bandwidth
  2. Lingual Dependance
  3. Communication Efficiency
  4. Cost Effectiveness

Research

Most pharmacies were not well equipped with technologies to manage their inventory and getting them onboard with inventory management is again considered a heavy investment in terms of money and as well as time

Hence the communication between the customer and the pharmacy becomes difficult without an inventory management system in place.

users receiving different brand or substitute of medicines were of higher percentage.

Therefore we had to come up with an innovative way to solve the availability of drugs and convey the same to the user in a seamless and cost-effective.

Solutions

The in-app messaging functionality is the staple method that is majorly used in the current world and it comes with its own pros and cons list.

Although the cons in this method is a narrow list but didn’t tick off a few where the client goals.

This method involves a lot of effort in terms of engineering and design along with time to make this functionality work

Hence we stirred off of this method and were considering this for the next release.

Solution 2: Check Box Method.

This check box method is a simple to-do type task list. Instead of the tasks, the pharmacy has to enter the prescribed medicines and substitute medicines and wait for confirmation from the user.

The user will have the ability to either completely deny the order or to partially buy the order by checking a few prescribed medicines(substitute or original) and confirming the order and paying.

Although the user still has the ability to contact the pharmacy and relay information. But in this method, the interaction is on-point between user and store and doesn’t require much effort.

This also helps us cut down the cost and resources.

Final Design.

Functioning

Closing Thoughts.

This project is currently still in progress! Additional things I’m exploring include how to simplify the process.
